Sylvie Carlier was born in Le Mans of France, where she grew up and studied. She started painting when she was young. In 1979, she visits Greece and overwhelmed by its light and beauty, she decides to get settled in Piraeus, where she still lives and keeps her personal studio.

Born with this special eye, that allows the painter to realise the environment, and a hand specially skillful in depicting this reality, lifted through the breath of the soul she dares to try different techniques.

Trying always to improve her artistic skills, she took some classes Nikos Pissas that lasted three years, during which she approached painting through a more classical way.

She keeps on painting, believing in a system of values and principals that characterise her pieces of work, which are made in the calmness and completion of her studio. Her friends charmed by her work and her long and continuous efforts for recognition of arts encourage her increasingly.

1986 is when she is having her first exhibition. Since then every year she gets called to participate in different group exhibitions in Greece (Athens Zappeio Exhibition Room-1989, Kostis Palamas Academy-1989, Municipal Theatre of Piraeus-1992, 1994, 1998, 1999, Kondi Gallery-1997, Melina Merkouri Cultural Center-2000, Island of Ikaria—1997, Island of Andros-2000) as well as in France (“Meeting The Painters”-Sainte Generi Le Gerei of Orne-1995, “Montmartre a Briollay”-Maine et Loire-1996, 200)

In 1993 she is having her first personal exhibition in the island of Sifnos, Cyclades, in 1997 the second (Under The Bridge Theatre-Piraeus) and third (Tours of France).

In 1999 the suggestions do increase and in 2000, everything seems to be happening faster, after participating in the Panhellenic Painting Competition of Parnassos-Athens.

She draws everyone's attention at the Thanos Tragas Art Center of Athens, where is is being awarded. In June 2000, she gets invited to participate in the International Painting Exhibition, organised by UNESCO. Given the chance, she, then, becomes a member of it, and she is given the position responsible for the International Public Relations as well as the mission of representing Greece in France and France in Greece.

Her actions show how active she is. She is a member of the Panhellenic Company of Literature and Art of Athens. She is also in charge of organising painting exhibitions at the “Under The Bridge Theatre”- head of which is the famous actor Nikos Dafnis. She collaborates with the Bourbon Studio of Fontevraud-L'abbaye of Maine et Loire, as well as with the Art Gallery of Jc Bellanger of Angers. She is a member of the Cultural Council of Briollay, and of the Council of the “Athenes Accueil” French Company. She is also an ambassadressof the Anger Artists French Company, “Les Artistes Ligeriens”. Finally she is in charge of public relations of “Skinovates” Art and Culture Union.

Her art is expressed through different paths; Greek landscapes, dead natures, horses, icebergs, dolphins etc. She presents her work in different sizes, but her miniatures pleasantly surprise everyone. The artist spreads her range of colours with great skill, so that she can provide an harmonic and “polite” result, surrounded by the clarity, unfolded by the world of light. Her work shows us her love for Greece and her continuous quest for values through the classical beauty. ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟ ΣΗΜΕΙΩΜΑ

ΣΥΛΒΙ ΚΑΡΛΙΕ

Η Συλβί Καρλιέ γεννήθηκε στο Le Mans της Γαλλίας όπου μεγάλωσε και σπούδασε. Ασχολήθηκε από μικρή ηλικία με τη ζωγραφική. Το 1979 συναντά την Ελλάδα και καταγοητευμένη από την ομορφιά και το φως, αποφασίζει να εγκατασταθεί στον Πειραιά όπου μένει μέχρι σήμερα και διατηρεί το ατελιέ της. Γεννημένη με αυτό το ξεχωριστό μάτι που επιτρέπει στο ζωγράφο να κατανοήσει τα πράγματα του κόσμου και με χέρι ειδικά επιδέξιο στο να απεικονίζει αυτήν την πραγματικότητα μεταρσιωμένη από την πνοή της ψυχής, αποτολμά διάφορες τεχνικές.

Προσπαθώντας συνεχώς να συμπληρώσει την τέχνη της, παρακολούθησε μαθήματα στο ατελιέ του Νίκου Πισσά για τρία χρόνια όπου και προσέγγισε τη ζωγραφική από μια πιο κλασσική τεχνοτροπία.

Συνεχίζει να ζωγραφίζει πιστεύοντας σ’ ένα σύνολο αξιών και αρχών που διέπουν το ζωγραφικό της έργο μέσα στην ηρεμία και πληρότητα του ατελιέ της. Οι φίλοι της γοητευμένοι από το έργο της κι απ’ την πολύχρονη και διαρκή προσπάθειά της για την ανάδειξη των τεχνών, την ενθαρρύνουν συνεχώς όλο και πιο πολύ.

Το 1986 κάνει την πρώτη της έκθεση. Έκτοτε, κάθε χρόνο την καλούν να συμμετάσχει σε διάφορες ομαδικές εκθέσεις τόσο στην Ελλάδα ( Αθήνα: Αίθουσα Εκθέσεων του Ζαππείου το 1989, Ακαδημία «Κωστή Παλαμά» το 1989, στο Δημοτικό Θέατρο Πειραιά το 1992, -94, -98, -99, στην Γκαλερί «Κονδί» το 1997, στο Πολιτιστικό Κέντρο «Μελίνα Μερκούρη» το 2000, στα νησιά: Ικαρία το 1997, στην Άνδρο το 2000 ), όσο και στη Γαλλία ( «Συνάντηση με τους Ζωγράφους» στο Sainte Generi le Gerei στο νομό της Orne το 1995, στο νομό του Maine et Loire «Montmarte a Briollay» το 1996 και το 2000 ).


Το 1993 κάνει την πρώτη της ατομική έκθεση στην Σίφνο των Κυκλάδων, το 1997 στο Θέατρο «Κάτω από την Γέφυρα» στον Πειραιά και στην Tours στην Γαλλία.

Το 1999 οι προτάσεις γίνονται περισσότερες και με τον ερχομό του έτους 2000 τα γεγονότα προχωρούν με πιο γοργούς ρυθμούς όταν συμμετέχει στον «Πανελλήνιο Διαγωνισμό Ζωγραφικής» του Παρνασσού στην Αθήνα.

Κάνει μεγέλη εντύπωση στο Κέντρο Τέχνης «Θάνος Τράγας» στην Αθήνα όπου παίρνει μια διάκριση. Τον Ιούνιο του 2000 την καλούν να συμμετάσχει στη Διεθνή Έκθεση Ζωγραφικής οργανωμένη υπό την αιγίδα της Unesco. Με αυτήν την ευκαιρία γίνεται επίσημο μέλος της Unesco και παίρνει τον τίτλο της Διεθνούς Δημοσίων Σχέσεων επιφορτισμένη με την αποστολή να αντιπροσωπεύει την Γαλλία στην Ελλάδα και την Ελλάδα στην Γαλλία.

Όντας πολύ δραστήρια, συμμετέχει στον Σύλλογο Γραμμάτων και Τεχνών του Πειραιά, είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος της Πανελλήνιας Εταιρείας Λόγου και Τέχνης της Αθήνας (Π.Ε.Λ.Τ.), υπεύθυνη για την οργάνωση εκθέσεων ζωγραφικής στο Θέατρο «Κάτω από τη Γέφυρα» στον Πειραιά, διευθυντής του οποίου είναι ο ηθοποιός Νίκος Δάφνης. Συνεργάζεται με το ατελιέ Bourbon στο Fontevraud – L’ Abbaye στο νομό του Maine et Loire και επίσης με την Γκαλερί Τέχνης του Jc. Bellanger στο Angers. Είναι στέλεχος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του Briollay στην Γαλλία και μέλος της Γαλλικής Εταιρείας «Athenes Accueil» στην Αθήνα. Επίσης, είναι μέλος και Πρέσβης της Γαλλικής Εταιρείας Καλλιτεχνών του Angers «Les Artistes Ligeriens». Τέλος, είναι μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου και υπεύθυνη των Δημοσίων Σχέσεων στο Σωματείου Τεχνών και Πολιτισμού «Σκηνοβάτες».

Το έργο της εκφράζεται με πολλές μορφές: ελληνικά τοπία, νεκρές φύσεις, άλογα, παγόβουνα και άλλα. Παρουσιάζει τα έργα της σε διάφορα μεγέθη αλλά οι μινιατούρες της μάς ξαφνιάζουν ευχάριστα. Η καλλιτέχνης απλώνει με καταπληκτική δεξιοτεχνία τη χρωματική της γκάμα έτσι ώστε να μας προσφέρει ένα αρμονικό και ευγενές αποτέλεσμα όπου περιβάλλεται από τη διαύγεια που ξεδιπλώνει ο κόσμος του φωτός. Τα έργα της μάς αποκαλύπτουν την αγάπη της για την Ελλάδα αλλά και τη συνεχή αναζήτηση αξιών μέσα από το κλασσικό κάλλος. Ιδέες όπως Ελευθερία, Αγνότητα, Διαφάνεια ενυπάρχουν στο σύνολο του έργου της και αποτελούν την εικαστική πρόταση της Συλβί Καρλιέ.

SYLVIE CARLIER

En 1979, elle rencontre la Grèce: charmée par la Beauté et fascinée par la Lumière, elle décide de s'installer au Pirée où elle vit toujours.

Née avec cet oeil particulier qui permet au peintre de saisir les choses du Monde et avec une main spécialement habile à retranscrire cette réalité transformée par le souffle de l'âme, elle s'essaie à diverses techniques.

Cherchant sans cesse à parfaire son art, elle fréquente, pendant deux ans l'Atelier d'Antoine Politakis. Puis, pendant trois ans celui de Nikos Pissas, de facture plus classique.

Elle continue à peindre dans le secret de son atelier: ses amis, séduits par les oeuvres, l'encouragent...

En 1986, elle expose à la Mairie du Pirée: le coup d'envoi est donné. Dès lors, chaque année, elle est sollicitée pour participer à diverses expositions collectives, tant en Grèce (Athènes: Salle d'Exposition de Zapio en 1989, Académie Kosti Palama en 1989; au Pirée: Théâtre Municipal en 1992-1994-1998-1999, Galerie Kondi en 1997, Université/ Association des Lettres & Arts du Pirée en 1997, Centre Culturel Mélina Mercouri en 2000; sur les îles: Ikaria en 1999, Andros en 2000...) qu'en France («Rencontre des Peintres» à Saint-Ceneri le Gérei dans l'Orne en 1995; dans le Maine-et-Loire, «Montmartre à Briollay» en 1999 & 2000...).

Des expositions individuelles lui sont consacrées: dès 1993, l'artiste expose à Sifnos (Ile des Cyclades); au Théâtre du Pont au Pirée en 1997 et à Tours au M.F.P. Assurances en 1996 &1999.

Si dès 1999, les propositions multiplient, c'est avec l'an 2000 que les évènements se précipitent lorsqu'elle participe au Concours Panhellenique du Parnasse à Athènes. Elle est aussi très remarquée à la Galerie Tragas d'Athènes où elle se verra remettre une distinction. En juin 2000, elle est sollicitée pour participer à l'Exposition Internationale de Peinture, organisée sous l'égide de l' UNESCO: c'est à cette occasion qu'elle devient officiellement membre de l'UNESCO, chargée de représenter la France en Grèce et la Grèce en France...

Très active, elle s'implique dans l'Association des Lettres & Arts du Pirée est co-fondateur de l'Association Panhellenique de Littérature & Arts d'Athènes, responsable de l'organisation des expositions de peinture au Théâtre du Pont (Pirée) dont le Directeur est l'acteur Nikos Daphnis; elle collabore aussi avec l'Atelier Bourbon à Fontevraud-L'Abbaye dans le Maine-et-Loire... Des émissions de télévision en Grèce lui ont été consacrées.

Son oeuvre est multiforme: paysages grecs, natures mortes, chevaux, icebergs... Elle se projette sur des formats divers mais ses miniatures étonnent! L'artiste a apprivoisé les couleurs pour nous offrir un univers de lumière très particulier. Son oeuvre raffinée nous enseigne non seulement son amour pour la Grèce, mais aussi la recherche incessante de valeurs telles que la Liberté, La Pureté, la Transparence...
